03-Oct-01 - Toria Hare Goes To Hug Trees
Women's Club Captain Victoria Hare has gone to Peru for 3-6 months to participate in conservation work. Having left behind civilisation Toria hopes to be able to extend her stay by securing a paid post to continue support work for a further three months - returning just in time to join up with the Hornets for the 2002 Easter Tour.
23-Sep-01 - Hornets Welcome More New members
The Hornets recruited a some extra players. Two of whom who will turn out for the first time at this year's Stratford Festival. Aidan Brock & Nick the Goalie - both recruits from Tulse Hill - and Simon Newell join the swelling ranks of the Hornets.
10-May-01 - Uni Mens team secure place in top flight
The University Men's side have finished in seventh place (of twelve) in their league and have therefore ensured that they will be playing in the top division again next season. In addition to this they were runners-up in the SESSA PLATE - losing out to a late strike by King Alfreds in the dying minutes of normal time.
17-Apr-01 - Hornets in get to Semi-Finals
The Hornets have excelled all previous Tours by making the 2001 Easter Tour to Bournemouth their most successful ever. Over the weekend the team notched up the folowing results: W3 D1 L3. This was made even more special by actually reaching the Cup Semi-Finals with wins over Zak Hood 1-0 and gagging4it 2-1 only to lose out 2-0 to the eventual winners - Streakers.
09-Apr-01 - Hornet Members lose out in Cup Semi
Hornets members Mark Jones, Dougal Davis, Simon Riley, Lee Tearle & Lee Snowdon - who play their league Hockey for Tulse Hill in SW London - were knocked out of the Pizza Express London League 4B Cup Semi-Finals - by Cup favourites Indian Gym. Having taken the lead in the first 5 minutes they were soundly beaten 5-1 by the final whistle.
28-Mar-01 - Hornets Welcome New members
The Hornets beef up they side with the introduction of some new members who will turn out for the first time at this year Bournemouth Festival. Messrs Simon Riley, Lee Tearle & Lee Snowdon all join us from their league club Tulse Hill as does Melanie Clark. While the introduction of these players is unlikely to result in more silverware for the club it will give an excuse for more celebrting by the club!
